Redirection Road

Wow, that was difficult. Last night I had a hard time sleeping, just achey from all the moving of boxes and suitcases. The extra cleaning didn’t help either. It was my last night sleeping on the floor, thank the gods! It was also a bit weird being alone in an almost empty house that has so many memories.

I woke at 5:30 am and still ended up leaving around 10:30 am instead of 8 am. I hired someone to do a move-out clean, but she did a poor job and I had to redo the floors and clean things she missed. This just added to my time. I packed the car four times before I just gave up and crammed things in. Even with that, I forgot a bag of puddy goodies. More treats for my baby.

I had a few “misty” moments remembering all the times and life I lived there. I felt a bit like a throw-away person. All the last years not meaning much to others. Driving away and seeing all the places I visited and enjoyed myself felt like leaving a part of myself behind. My life actually passed before my eyes. I kept remembering all the different experiences in each place.

Also, I needed to see my good friend Doris before I left. Doris is very dear to me and family. I will miss her so much. Truthfully, I will miss some people and places. All in all, I ended up leaving Napa at around 2:00 pm. and the traffic was the usual mess.

Leaving so late, I was only able to make it to Winnemucca, Nevada. Driving through the dessert at night was nice. It really wasn’t true night as it was dusk even up to 9 pm. It was also 90 degrees at 9 pm. Not being a dessert person, I was surprised how lovely it looked with a storm off in the distance. When I got into town, everything was booked up so I ended up staying at one of the Casinos that accepted pets.

I was totally exhausted when I got in and just got some dinner, walked Circe and did a quick post. I am adding a couple of videos of the drive scenery. I wanted to string all the videos together, but the GoPro app doesn’t seem to have that feature. At least, I haven’t discovered it. I will try and get Audition on the laptop so I may be able to do this in the future.
