This is actually the St. Louis Bridge on my way to Illnois. It is beautiful!
We made a lot of stops because it is a long ride and we have been going since Monday and it is Saturday. There are so many billboards along the road here. They just crack me up. I couldn’t decided if I wanted to stop at the Cannabis Shop or Country Quilts…. There were also the gun emporium and adult lingerie billboards.
One of our stops just outside St. Louis.
I stopped in Mt. Vernon, but the only places that took pets was the Super 8 and it looked a bit dicey. The area wasn’t that good. The good side of town didn’t accept pets. So, I headed on down the road. An hour later, I spotted an exit with a hotel sign. I had to laugh, it was another Super 8. At least this area looked better. It doesn’t have anything except the hotel, a Subway, gas station and another so-so hotel. I was too tired and the check-in guy said it was safe as there isn’t anything out here…lol.
OMG…..I saw this and had to take a shot of this….Republic Services Garbage! That is the same company we have in Fairfield, CA!

Oh, the only room they had on the ground floor had what they call a hot tub and cost a lot extra. The hot tub turns out is just a jetted tub in the main room…..Hahahahahahaha…. costly laugh, but what do you do. There is also a very throw-together Mexican cantina in the back. I am not sure, but it looks like a quick after thought from someone who stays here.
We survived the night, not the best or most restful, but we are ready for the road again. One last look at the town and off we go….
