I am starting to settle into a sort of routine. The morning routine starts with the puddy going out to wee, getting coffee, checking the mail, quick look at the weather and then a quick change to go out running. I started running with Circe this week…
After the cow incident, I am not sure if she will still come along. Circe went ballistic when she saw cows, quite literally. She was barking and growling at the same time while lunging and throwing herself towards the interested cows. What was disconcerting was the cows reaction to Circe, they came running and were totally enthralled by her. I feared getting trampled as the wire fence and wood post didn’t look all that formidable. It is always weird to see cows running, as they mostly just meander, but to see a group of 50 running your direction is certainly a sight..! So, we did the cow thing twice, one up and one on the way back. By then, I was totally exhausted.
I am enjoying the workout shed. I do what I can there, some stretching, pilates and what I can with plate weights. It is a nice little area to work out in. I just have to settle in on a program with what is available. I haven’t found a gym close enough yet.
Puddy Break!

Oh, I should mention Circe got out this week. The door was ajar and she saw her chance and went. I didn’t notice right away, but panicked when I did. Totally freaked out is more like it, but after notifying animal control, driving up the road a bit and standing confused in the front wondering which way she would have headed off, I heard some barking. I headed in that direction through the woods to the neighbor’s house. Sure enough, she was there running around the house and barking. I called her and, of course, she didn’t come….I chased her around the house twice, then she ran into the woods on the other side and after a mad chase through the woods, we ended up at another neighbor’s house. I heard chickens and had this horrible vision of Circe grabbing a chicken. Anyway, long story longer….after checking out the goat pen she saw the barking dogs penned up and went over to them. While she was nose to nose with one, I tackled her and got her harness and leash on. Whew! There were some moments that I thought I might not be able to get her.
So, we are going into puppy training boot camp….

On other subjects, I am being held hostage by the moving company. I cannot go anywhere as I have to wait for their call, which who knows when that will be. On the up side, I got my rugs and blender so I am feeling more at home. Now I can blend again…… Crossing the country I ate way too many BLTs and fruit pies. I have the need to start eating healthy again. The quantity of bacon I ate on the way out is just scary…..and, of course, yummy. š
