First Fog…

I was excited to see my first fog here in Louisa. There was ground fog that makes the world seem close and quiet. It hung in there till the afternoon when it moved up to become an overcast sky.

What fog looks like on camera.

Autumn is waning and moving into winter here. Beautiful rich colors at the beginning of the week started turning murky and rustic as the last leaves fall away.

Raining leaves….

I actually delayed putting this episode up as I was looking for interesting facts about Louisa. As of today, really the biggest claim to fame is that Louisa’s location made it a major crossroads for activity in the Civil war. A variety of battlegrounds are in the area and, of course, there is “The Tavern.” :-). I was going to take some photos of the battlegrounds, but they all look like soccer fields. In fact, I have seen bigger soccer fields than many of the sites. Watching movies that portray the war make the battles seem huge, but in truth many were small battles.

Other news….

I met Pap from Pittsburg, the neighbor across the highway and down the road. In fact, the old beagle that wanders about belongs to him. He lives with his daughter and son-in-law. Nice old guy! We chatted at the mailbox before my run yesterday. I did learn some weather facts about Louisa and what is up with the house I live in. According to Pap, it has gone through multiple owners in a short span of years.

The local grocer’s vegetable offerings leave one wanting so I checked out the organic vegetable store. It is small, but has nice fruits and vegetables along with various pickled and canned goods. Pricey but luscious offering line the bins. Seriously, I paid over $3.00 for an heirloom tomato. Granted, it was the size of a large bagel, but still! I did score a jar of pickled baby beets that was excellent.

I”ll end with this mornings sunrise…..
