Wishing everyone a prosperous New Year
I hope everyone had a great holiday. I always feel positive about a new year, so many possibilities. Each January feels like a clean slate with options for changing things up. I am hoping 2023 will be a better year than 2022. Normally, I would be more positive, but I am just hoping for a better standard than last year :-).
It seems like it has been raining forever here. It is supposed to snow today/tonight. Funny how the temperatures get colder as the day goes on. It should be about 7 degrees at 9 pm with snow on the horizon. The question is whether it will melt off by morning….. It would be nice to have a white Christmas.

It has rained so much lately that the water isn’t absorbing into the landscape. This with the single-digit weather has created mini ice lakes. Pretty much everywhere there are little ice flows with swirls and crystals mixed with the fallen autumn. it is quite beautiful I am including some pictures from my runs.

The downtown has decked the streets with lights and wreaths. It is lovely. The lights are probably one my favorite things about this time of year. I did mosey on down to town on Christmas day, but it there weren’t many lights or things going on.

We are full on into winter and it really is beautiful in all the muted tones and spiney trees. You get a feel for the landscape when all the leaves are gone and the land barren. I really hoped we would have snow by Christmas, but it seems it may not happen for a time. All the big cyclone snow storms have just missed my area. Warm fronts pushing up from the south have kept the weather reasonably mild.
It is perfect running weather right now, brisk and crisp. Here are some images of my run in winter. I have been on a good string of consistent running, which is one of my goals this year to be consistent and make progress in my exercise program. It is a such a beautiful place to run and enjoy the nature around me.

Other news, a couple of new friends have visited…

Circe has a new squirrel friend. He comes up on the porch pretty much every morning now. Circe and him nose each other through the window and then he scurries off. She looks for him now every day.
I cut all my hair off and got bangs….! I know, not the best shot. Another of my goals is to get my gear out and start shooting again. I need a new profile photo for my social media. It is in the works!

Circe had her first vet visit here. I love the vet, she is really caring and Circe likes her also. The Lyme tick immunization was what we went for, but she had her full annuals. And yes, I had to wrestle her into and out of the car…..! I leave you with cute pud pics…..
