Welcome to the Lake

Ok, so the new home is on a big lake. And when I say big, I mean it appears to go on forever! So, I am on one end of it, the small end. I will explore more and have some videos on the lake as we go….. I hear tell that it is hoppin’ here at the lake in the summer.

BONEYARD

I have discovered a small-animal boneyard on the property. Some critter is dining in the yard. The bones are picked really clean, so I am thinking they have been there for a time. Unclear though…..

FANGOM FOREST

For those who are not “Lord of the Rings” fans, Fangom Forest is a gnarly mess of angry trees. This is what the forest looks like here. This is vastly different from the organized forest of my last home here. I was used to an organized grouping of trees that in winter you can actually see through the trees. There is space between the trees and, actually, the trees grow pretty much straight upwards. I could walk through the trees easily with the pud even when she made her unexpected runs after squirrels and other forest creatures. It is a bit dicer here with things slapping you in the face, long strands of branches growing in all directions and thick sticker trees that like to bite into your skin through your clothing.

I also found a creek in the back area. It is one of those great creeks that inspire children to explore and find special journeys into fantasy. This creek actually reminds me of one in South Carolina that I used to explore when I was just a wee child.

Moving along, I am still exploring the area. I found something interesting on my run the other day. A phone booth! Yes, an actual Bell Telephone phone booth. For some reason someone has one in front of their house next to the garage. The garage is interesting also as 99 percent of homes here “Do Not” have garages, especially one attached to the house. Another interesting little tidbit is that there is not any landline phone service available out here.

This post is a bit of a jumble because of this. I will be exploring and have more interesting things to say next time. I have been busy unpacking and repacking things so I can work. I also decided to live like a regular human being and have set up a home-ish house. It feels like I live here and Circe is becoming a dog again. She likes the space and area. There are a couple of cats here that like torturing her, so all is right with the world.
