Ok, last month’s selection was a bit short. This is a result of the “life happens” effect. You all know how that goes….. I am excited for this month as it is the middle of the year — can you believe we are already halfway through the year!– and summer is blooming. The days here are perfect having cool mornings and evenings with hot days. Summer also brings in those refreshing thunderstorms. All those negative ions make me feel good. Another sign of summer is fireflies. They are back and twinkling at dusk.
A new country store opened in my area. They are owned by a local rancher so all the meat is fresh from the farm and they have A2 milk! I didn’t know there were any A2 cows in America, but in Virginia there are. I quickly scooped up some chocolate A2 in a chilly glass bottle. This is the new option to butchers who are naught anymore. The meat is not a bad price and the slab bacon is just the best. Oh…they make their own ice cream also.

A little bit of the summer forest…..

While cruising the Internet, I happened upon a list of 15 places to see in Virginia. I was surprised to see I have been to almost all of the places, but I have not posted about these places. I copied the list and headed out to see Fredericksburg, which, incidentally, is one of the places I have not seen yet. I left in the afternoon and summer here is packed and that means traffic, and lots of it!

Went through the residential area on my into Fredericksburg. What a nice little home this is!
I started in the historic downtown, which was crazy busy. I spotted an open parking spot and swooped into the spacer.
Fredericksburg has a rich history and lots of battlefields that I will visit in the future. As it was late afternoon and the place was filled with tourists, I decided to check out the historic strip first. It was a beautiful sunny day and I happened upon a nice square where people came and just sang, dance or performed in some manner. The young girl with the fabulous voice is a local 16-year-old. She was amazing and her voice……! A latin band came out and after a set got people from the crowd to play conga drums and dance. It was quite fun. I brought my camera, but my non CPU lens would not work so the pics I got were with an extra wide lens. I will put them up another time. I grabbed some pics and videos with the phone instead.

They are pretty serious about the common areas…..
I happened upon the Fredericksburg Art Gallery and they were having a “Free Day,” so I stopped in. There is a small area in the downstairs and another at the top of this crazy climb to the third floor.

It was almost 90 degrees so I headed on over to the espresso bar and got a Fred. That is an espresso drink with protein and a banana. I know, sounds odd, but I got one and it was actually good. Maybe because it was ice cold….it went down nice.

I felt this needed a mention. On the way down I saw this 7-11 Superplex! It was the biggest 7-11 I have ever seen. I am not sure if they have 7-11 on the west coast? I don’t remember seeing any? This was crazy and I thought it was worth a shout out here.

So, another mention is that I haven’t got my system set up yet and when I do, I will have better and more entertaining video and photos. I have been doing the quick grab till I get everything together. Hopefully, by the end of the year….
HOMESTEAD ….
My front porch seems to teem with life these days. Everything makes its way here.

This one just cracks me up. Another Cardinal knocking at the door. Check out the walkway….there is a bunny just sitting there. I wonder if they know each other? I will talk more about my ongoing bunny problem in another post…..

OH, by the way, what the h^&*ll is this thing???!!!
At first I thought bat…., but it isn’t a bat. It looks like some dinosaur age bug creature …..
Until next time……
