West Virginia

We made it to West Virginia! It was a white knuckle ride over the pass, but we are here! A storm came in right when I was on the lead up to the pass. Add to this road work that kept switching the lanes all over the place. My car has haptics that detect if you are leaving the lane and they try and force you back. This had the effect of putting me into a slide on the extremely wet roads. It was raining so hard I could not see even with my wipers on high. I am sure the people behind me thought I was drunk or just one of those crazy California drivers. Before you say it, I did try and turn off the iSight, but it would not turn off–Of Course!

After the roller-coaster ride into Charleston, West Virginia, we navigated to the hotel. The area is mixed, kind of dive apartments and hotels. The Raddisson is nice and has lots of places for Circe to walk around. When we got here, we actually toured the area and part of the town. It felt awesome to walk around and be out of the car. Circe ran around, sniffed, peed, barked at some people and ran about. I think she felt better after all that. We both just crashed after dinner. I didn’t even take off my clothes…..

Breakfast was good and I had oatmeal, a danish and yogurt washed down with four cups of coffee! Circe had a rawhide treat wrapped in meat, a hard boiled egg and a few bites of her crunchy food washed down with four bowls of water (small travel bowl). We are both revived!

I will upload some pictures later after we get home! YES, we are heading home today! It really feels like home even though we haven’t been there yet. Being on the road so long, anyplace that we don’t have to pack and leave would feel like home….
