It has been awhile since my last post. It has been such a crazy few months. I actually had to go and read the last posting in September to remember where I left off.
Some new things, I have had a stalker since July, 2023. That is a joy. It started with hearing someone creeping about the woods. Then someone messed with one of my cameras. The next phase escalated to messing with my car. One day he let out the air of one tire by 17 lbs. Then, one night he tried to get into my engine. I know this because I went out to move my car and the alarm showing the engine was on. I was concerned at this point, but I never thought someone was stalking me. Not until I woke one morning and looked at my cameras and saw him standing in front of my windows….! It was so creepy that I had a hard time believing what I was seeing. Anyway, that just added to my list of things to stress over.
On the up side, it did snow one night here…

It was only a little bit and melted off by the afternoon, but it was nice watching it snow the night before.
THE HOUSE HUNT
In fourteen months I drove 28,000 miles looking for a home. There were many elements such as price, size, have to fit my furniture, location, land and basic soundness of the home. Last year was not the best year to be purchasing a home, but you have to get in where you are at. I did bid on one home I didn’t get, start purchasing another that had issues the seller did not want to fix and then there was the one I ended up buying.
I will skip all the nuttiness of loan companies, inspectors and general chaos of the whole process. I am poor now, but I have a place to live. It is in the mountains and 400 miles from where I am currently renting. The drive back and forth has been brutal. It is winter and it does snow a lot more where I am moving. I have to drive 90% of the way in the mountains and some of those passes are wicked in bad weather.

The first night there was uncomfortable. I stayed overnight after the close. This is mine and Circe’s bed. (mostly Circe’s….) I used her stuffed bear as my pillow and a moving blanket as the bed. Needless to say, I did not sleep well or long.
All my views are Zen…

Circe is not the best traveler and has made me pay for every mile she has to endure.
The area down the mountain is a whole new world from where I am at now…..

So, we are on the road again. It seems an ever widening scope on my living conditions. This is the first mountain living I have done, so it will be a whole new experience. I am looking forward to exploring the area. There is a lot of culture there and much live music and theater, surprisingly. In fact, I am set to go to a jazz concert in February!
I am now close to other states and actually 3 hours from where I grew up. Or the place I considered home the most as a child. I guess we end up circling around in the end. So, lots more places to go and have fun. I will keep this short, more of an update after all this time. I will be back when I get moved in with a tour of the new home.
Be well, stay safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
